What To Expect

Pastor Glenn
You may be wondering what our worship service is like and whether you will fit in at Woodville Baptist Church. This page will attempt to answer some of your questions.

Woodville is a country church of friendly people. Some of our congregation wear suit jackets and dresses. Others wear jeans. Most probably fit in between wearing comfortable clothes.

We have a large lot with no reserved parking. Our sanctuary is easily accessible with areas of no steps on either side of the building. Restrooms are also easily accessible.

Before and after the service our foyer is the place where the people greet one another with smiles, or a friendly handshake. When you arrive someone will greet you and help show you around.

We serve doughnuts, and beverages in the fellowship hall at 9:00 AM  Sunday School starts at 9:30. We have classes for all ages.  You are always welcome and we encourage you to attend. Note there are steps leading to the fellowship hall and to some of our Sunday School rooms. A ramp is located outside the building on the west side.

Our morning service starts at 10:30 and usually lets out at around 12:00. During the early part of the service you are likely to hear announcements of upcoming events, watch a video, and maybe celebrate a birthday or anniversary of someone that week. We usually take a few minutes to meet and greet one another.

The worship music may be keyboard or guitar driven, often a combination of both. The team usually includes drums and bass guitar as well. The singers lead the church in songs ranging from classic hymns to contemporary songs. The lyrics are displayed on the walls.

We generally stand for the opening song and sit afterwards. If you want to stand during all the songs, clap, or raise a hand, feel free. If that is not your style, feel free to remain seated in the pew.

Kids up to grade two, who wish to participate, may follow the leaders out of the sanctuary after the music for Children's Church. They meet in the fellowship hall.

Our worship time continues with the Pastor bringing the message God has laid on his heart that week. The teaching messages are backed with scripture and bathed in prayer. The sermon usually concludes with a call to respond to the message.

If you attend on a Sunday (usually quarterly) when we partake of communion, know that this is the Lord's table, as such he is the host. It is open to all born again baptized believers. You do not have to be a member of Woodville Baptist Church to join with us in this holy sacrament.

We hope this has given you a good feeling for our services and if you feel comfortable with it we hope you will join us. When you do, come a few minutes early, and stay a few minutes after. This is how we can get to know and serve each other better. Feel free to contact us if you need more information. We promise not to spam your mailbox.
